Our Business GM
Our Business GM is a Greater Manchester based co-operative established to help grow and retain wealth within local communities. Appointed as the Programme Lead, Fiona led the mobilisation of the co-operative, a digital hub and a migration to a digital directory to promote products and services sold by purposeful businesses across the city-region.
The Brief
Oversee the development and launch of a digital directory to support Greater Manchester's social economy and the development of a new co-operative to house this support (Our Business GM). Manage data migration, data imputation, data cleansing, develop a taxonomy to categorise social economy data, and document the architecture to support the sale of the infrastructure to other organisations.
The Result
Led a successful digital project (Drupal build) migration to Salesforce in under 3 months and onboarded over 900 products / services from over 500 purposeful businesses with 100s more in the pipeline. The taxonomy was developed with key partners (including Greater Manchester Growth Company) and data has been shared by national bodies including Co-operatives UK and Social Enterprise UK. The directory model is being looked at by other Combined Authorities to complement their business support offer to social economy organisations.
